Abstract:
Scientific and reasonable evaluation of coastline resource conditions is the basis for formulating coastal development strategies and coordinating functional layout of the coastline. This study selected indicators from dimensions of production, life and ecology, and constructed an evaluation index system for the development suitability of coastline resources. Based on GIS technology, the comprehensive evaluation of the development suitability of Hai kou coastline resources was carried out. The results show that Haikou coastline is in a high intensity of development, of which 13.61% is composed of industrial shorelines, 38.01% is living shorelines, 39.48% is ecological shorelines and 8.90% is reserved shorelines. The coastline of the central city has the highest development intensity, followed by the western area, and the eastern area has the least development intensity. The shoreline resources can be divided functionally into 5 types as port, fishery aquaculture, living and tourism, ecological conservation and reserved shoreline. The ecological protection coastlines are mainly locatied in eastern Dongzhaigang area, and the western area and the central urban area are dominated by living and tourism functions as well as port and shipping functions. Development and protection should be considered according to the characteristics of the regional coastline in order to provide scientific and technological support for the protection and sustainable use of Haikous coastline resources.
